Days of December:
restoring the glow of the holiday season
"We create this world, so we make what exists." -Big Sean
The "Days of December" project was created with the hopes of spreading some holiday cheer throughout communities this December. For some of us, this time of year is a joyful celebration. The goal of this project is to focus on ways to make this season a little brighter for those braving an illness, living in poverty, and undergoing emotional stress. This is a vow to spend more time getting to know the beautiful people in our surrounding communities, more meaningful time with family and friends, and less time fighting over parking spots at the mall. Let's celebrate the love, joy and peace that defines this time of year.
Ideas have been generated so that each day of December can be spent serving the community. Some days involve preparation, and some do not. Take a look at the calendar of events to see which projects seem meaningful to you and your loved ones! Participate in one day, one week or all of them. Volunteer time, money, words, gifts, smiles, prayers or meditations. Give in ways that you believe in. Follow along with this calendar or create your own meaningful ways to spend this season. The impact of our efforts together, in any capacity, will strengthen our communities and restore the meaning of this holiday season.
If you'd like to join our group in any of these projects, go to the 'contact' and 'helpful links' pages to find out more.
